For Terraq we use a robust suede in dark green in this version. In order to make it as easy as possible for you, we have sewed two hook soles on the high shaft in order to be able to open the outdoor shoe without any problems.

I have this model of ZAQQ Especially ordered for hikes a while ago. A few days ago I (finally finally) came to try it out on a big tour. We hiked over hill and stone and by high snow on the Säntisberg in Switzerland at a height of 2500 meters.
I have to say that of course I prepared the shoes again before. This includes a simple impregnation of the leather medium impregnation spray and an extra seal of the seams, since there is already a certain column between rubber sole and leather. To do this, I simply put leather fat on the seams and the crevices and let it get smoothly with a hair dryer so that it can walk everywhere on the sides and everything.
And what should I say great now ... the shoe is great! The feeling of barefoot is of course not as good as with a simple barefoot shoe with a thin sole, but still surprisingly good! Above all, thanks to the thick sole, it is not so easy to slip away from the ground.
The shoe is absolutely waterproof.
As far as comfort is concerned, the shoe is also flawless! You can run in it forever, provided you take suitable socks! I once had thin normal socks, once thicker hiking socks from Lowa. The sweat is well removed, but I would recommend taking a break for a while for a while like all other hiking shoes, because after that everything feels much better again.
No pain, very high flexibility due to soft rubber sole and yet flawless hold with good barefoot feeling on the rocks!
The insole also fits well in it, but with me (if I only put on thin socks) the problem is that the right insole likes to slip back back. I guess I caught a Monday sole. But my feet are also rather loose and not firm in it.
The only thing I have to complain about on the shoe is the folded and pressed leather between the hooks or eyelets. After a while, this likes to press on the foot when you have to tighten it and have thin feet. However, weird white only with one shoe. I probably have to fold it a little.
The cords are also not the best. The plastic at the ends travels as you know it everywhere, but otherwise they stick well.
Conclusion: A great shoe with minimal quirks that is highly recommended. Absolute purchase recommendation from me! However, of course, if you buy an expensive product, you should treat it accordingly well and prepare for hikes etc. as well as use the suitable detergent that does not attack the leather.
