Hand-stitched soles from now on
A new milestone in our manufactory - hand-stitched soles on all ZAQQ barefoot shoes.
Making the best even better, that is our idea of quality and customer satisfaction. Therefore, we are proud to present our new sole sewing machine to you today.
Nothing speaks more about the quality of a shoe than a hand-stitched sole. This technique is hardly used in Germany anymore, and therefore you won't find any national manufacturer offering machines for it. However, we were not deterred by this and searched across Europe for a suitable machine.
During months of sewing trials, it was either not possible to stitch the sole due to the strength of our leather or the needles kept breaking. Due to our special construction of the ZAQQ barefoot shoes and the particularly high-quality 2 mm thick Hunting leather, we could not use an off-the-shelf machine.
Ultimately, we found a manufacturer in Italy who modified a sole sewing machine specifically to our requirements. This required particularly delicate components such as a "movable horn", an especially flat design of the head, as well as reinforcements on many moving parts.
Additionally, the machine's compressed air connection was optimized to provide enough power to sew our ultra-stable Hunting leather.
On Thursday, our brand-new showpiece finally arrived at our manufactory, and we were able to test it extensively.
The advantage for you is that from now on, our white soles will be edge-stitched with white thread and our black soles with black thread.
This way, you can be sure that we are building the best ZAQQ barefoot shoe you can imagine for you.
